What’s up with the zombie in the Pristiq commercial and her creepy wind-up doll?

Depression is NOT funny! HOWEVER, these commercials for Pristiq, a depression medication, are creepy and weird (and kind of funny). And the wind-up doll? Why is she sitting there watching the doll walk? Who thought this was a good idea? A possible Pristiq side effect: hallucinating that objects will come to life. Well, at least she’s not depressed, I guess.

I think this Pristiq lady just needs some Orajel, and she will be happy. Don’t you think so? See one of many Orajel commercials featuring overly, insanely excited people here:

  1. You’re right, this is very weird. The advertising business has been producing a lot of weird stuff lately. Sign of the times I guess. Actually it speaks your nature that you even noticed the strangeness of this ad. Most people just accept all this stuff. Congrats.

  2. CREEPY Pritiq commercial and more: Are you serious? I’ve been noticing this for years. It’s positively STEPFORD WIFE-ish and I can’t believe they don’t realize how surreal it seems.

This and the Cialis commercials: showing how “attraction might start with a touch, a wink…” Are they nuts?
